I got it to download. I had to register the localhost as the walrus server. Could that have been the problem all along?
That second fix allowed me to see the available images, but then when I try to install one I get: "Proxy failed to retrieve Eucalyptus credentials".
Any ideas?
Same here. I've only tried 11.04. Installing updates didn't help.
Flash drives will usually work with any system. They just put the windows label on because some people freak out when it doesn't say specifically that it is compatible with Windows.
I have a bunch...
cdrecord thanks that the disk isn't supported by the drive. Also, I think Brasero uses a different command so you should definitely give it a try.
I was sort of able to get it working with
pacat -r | pacat -p
but there is so much lag it isn't really useful. It basically takes the input stream and loops it back to the output stream. I'm not...
A while ago I noticed that when I was using skype the volume on the mic automatically turned down when I got too close. Maybe your system is doing the same, except actually turning it off.
Anyway,...
Theoretically it should never be a problem to remove a drive even with files open because of all the buffering and write redundancy that should be used, but I've seen enough stupid...
I just installed compiz and compiz config on Natty.
In Preferences -> Sound -> Input, is the connector set to internal? Also, what is the Profile set to under hardware?
The Windows formats are so ill defined that it is very difficult for libreoffice to follow all of the stupid things in them. It helps if you save in the 2003 formats or the odf (libreoffice) format....
Try running Administration -> Language Support, and applying System-Wide Support. iBus gave me a message that it needed to be configured when I ran the command.
CDRWs cant be "reformatted", they can be blanked.

Basically, the disk...
You can never be sure. You just have to make a backup of everything important and then decide if upgrading is worth the cool new features. Doing a fresh install is usually better, but you have to...
I have 11.04 running on a system that is over ten years old. It runs better than my parents computer with XP. It shouldn't be a problem.
Is it a touch pad mouse? It may be the "disable touchpad when typing" option in preferences -> mouse.
I always use newegg.com for that kind of stuff. Great, fast service and great prices. Cheapest one with 5 stars is $20.
I would try the other indicator applets in the "add to panel" thing you can get when you right click on the panel. That may fix the blacked out clock problem. As for the battery, you probably just...
This may help:

Those two tools are probably your best bet.
I wasn't so lucky. I couldn't recover any of my old...
If it can't read the CD Drive how do you know that the drive is working? It sounds to me like a hardware problem. Either the motherboard/processor is fried, or the hard drive is corrupt and the cd...
You could try adding individual applets to the top panel and getting rid of the single applet with everything on it. Just right click the clock and click remove from panel, then right click where it...
try running
ibus-daemon
in the terminal. This should manually start the process. Then try opening the preferences.
Disabling frequency scaling in the bios is probably the easiest way.
maybe changing the resolution: (ctrl)+(alt)+(plus on the number pad)
or zoom: (super)+(scroll wheel on the mouse)
