I don't use my desktop for files, I don't use a desktop wallpaper, it's useless to me but still needs to load everytime i boot up... so is there a way for me to remove the desktop?

I can only assume that the program has a working icon because of it's launcher; shown on the right side of the program in the picture below.

But the program itself is not displaying it properly...
