  1. [gnome] Re: Problems with GNOME, autofs, NFSv4 and Kerberos security

Yeah, that is something like I did too: I wrote 'fixnfs.sh' file, which contains following lines:

    #!/bin/bash

    # Ugly "/home over NFSv4" fix
    mkdir -p /tmp/$USER.ICE
    export...
  2. [all variants] Re: Dconf (inotify) + NFSv4 home directory mounts don't work in Ubuntu 10.10

    Hi,

this bug doesn't appear when mounting home directories with OpenAFS (http://www.openafs.org/) with krb5/openldap authentication so the problem is with NFSv4.
  3. [gnome] Re: Problems with GNOME, autofs, NFSv4 and Kerberos security

Okay, for your information: this bug doesn't appear when mounting home directories with OpenAFS (+krb+openldap).

  4. [all variants] Dconf (inotify) + NFSv4 home directory mounts don't work in Ubuntu 10.10

    Hi,

I have noticed that when I have my home directory mounted over network with NFSv4 ==> applications that use dconf to save preferences do not work correctly.

    Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm using NFSv4 (/home) and NIS for authentication.

    Here is my dmesg:

Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

    BTW:

Is it possible to show the title of the active application in Ubuntu's indicator-appmenu (like in Gnome GlobalMenu)?

Now I'm only getting the menu in the panel, no title or icon.

Re: Firefox and Thunderbird plugin for global-menu

Could you please tell me how to use this plugin? I cannot make it work.

I installed the plugin, but the menu appears only in Firefox as normally. I'm using 64bit Lucid/Maverick.

    Install gnome-common -package.

(Or if it's still not working I've automake, autoconf, gcc and g++ installed too).

Re: Mac-style Menu Bar for GTK and Java/Swing applications!

There is no need to patch GTK anymore (if you compile the latest Globalmenu from SVN/trunk)...

But you have to compile 0.4 version of Vala (http://live.gnome.org/Vala), because Intrepid has 0.3.5...
