Hi,
this bug doesn't appear when mounting home directories with OpenAFS (http://www.openafs.org/) with krb5/openldap authentication so the problem is with NFSv4.
Okay, for your information: this bug doesn't appear when mounting home directories with OpenAFS (+krb+openldap).

Hi,
I have noticed that when I have my home directory mounted over network with NFSv4 ==> applications that use dconf to save preferences do not work correctly.
If I try to save preferences...
Hi,
I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm using NFSv4 (/home) and NIS for authentication.
Here is my dmesg:
[16050.814763] nautilus[26957] general protection ip:7f01d8b5a07d sp:7fffa4e77460...
BTW:
Is it possible to show the title of the active application in Ubuntu's indicator-appmenu (like in Gnome GlobalMenu)?
Now I'm only getting the menu in the panel, no title or icon.
Could you please tell me how to use this plugin? I cannot make it work.
I installed the plugin, but the menu appears only in Firefox as normally. I'm using 64bit Lucid/Maverick.
BR,
Wapsi
Thanks guys very much! I upgraded my Globamenu from svn and now it is much better and stablier!
BTW: The Globalmenu is very relevant thing in mini laptop (7"-10" asus,acer,msi... you know...)....
Thanks again! :KS
Thank you very much!
BTW: There is about 1px line between the application's name and the gtk-menu... Is there some way to remove this line? I attached a screenshots about this...
By the way... Have you tried this:
Edit export GTK_MENUBAR_NO_MAC=[prgname list, eg: "gedit gnome-settings-daemon"] line to match your crashing applet and put it in .profile/.gnomerc file...
Put following lines before export GTK_MODULES=globalmenu-gnome line in .prfofile/.gnomerc/.bash_profile file:
export GNOMENU_VERBOSE=1
export GNOMENU_LOG_FILE=/tmp/globalmenu.log
Then logout...
I have asked this in Globalmenu's webpage: http://code.google.com/p/gnome2-globalmenu/issues/detail?id=148#c1
I tried, but I get this error while checkinstalling/'debbing' it: dpkg-deb: parse...
Install gnome-common -package.
(Or if it's still not working I've automake, autoconf, gcc and g++ installed too).
No, I didn't patch or recompile GTK, because it's not necessary anymore... Big tahnks to rainwoodman!
Uh... Is there some way to find what I've installed, because bash-history doesn't tell...
Okay...
I got Globalmenu (0.6 / the latest trunk) working on xUbuntu 8.10 Intrepid and this is what I did:
I downloaded, compiled and installed Vala 0.4:...
There is no need to patch GTK anymore (if you compile the latest Globalmenu from SVN/trunk)...
But you have to compile 0.4 version of Vala (http://live.gnome.org/Vala), because Intrepid has 0.3.5...
