ijust tried the fix grub thing in ur siggy,
now it will load grub up when i boot but when i select bunty it just stays at the splash screen with the bar bouncing from left to right...

well the fixboot command worked, or appeared to...
the fixmbr killed everything..
now i cant boot into either,
im running linux straight from the disk to do this...

ok, well i changed it, but still no good,
i know the HDD is working, i can access it here through bunty,
when i select Windows XP from the menu, it juat says "Starting Up" or whatever it is that...
ok, i now have 2 HDDs, one with linux and the other with XP...
i plan on using XP only for games,
anyways, the pc boots fine,
it uses the linux drive and used grub to boot,
my question is,...
yea, its kinda stuck like it, its not so bad but now i have 2 black bars ontop and under the screen to make it widescreen, if i change it to anything else, i get a black screen the moment it...
well the new fglrx drivers have done the trick! so ill just use these for now, 3d works rather well but could be better...
upgraded drivers to 1.2.1 today,
problem persists... any help?
im very sure the drivers are the most up-to-date, and yes, i used git to rebuild the xserver, ill have a look for newer drivers but now that linux is on my pc i dont use it as much, so ill do it...

i noticed it had a bit of trouble switching between DVI and VGA, i was running a DVI>VGA adapter plug but now im just running it VGA,
but still no difference :(
ok, well i tried the xorg file you suplied, but it has no effect, even in the resolution options i cant change any of the info higher than what i had...
also, i dont quite undersdand where to put...

yea, it wont even look sideways at it, for me it just goes on and proceeds to use no driver at all and everything lags, i NEED it to work as my card is PCIe and wont work with the standard drivers...
can anyone help at all???
PLEASE, its my ONLY problem with linux, i dont want to have to throw it out just coz of 1 stupid problem!
