tons of 'cannot allocate memory' messages ... I'm sure that's telling but I'd have to look up and see what that's all about. Does everything work OK if you login to the machine on a console?
I'm guessing that when the machine shuts down that it's not unmounting / properly. Do you get any error messages when you shut the machine down or reboot it about a filesystem being busy..?
