    Re: Noble Dailys: Successes or Failures?

    @sudodus:

    It's installed, been so for years . . . just seems to be from "lunar" . . . .

    @et al:

    Well the part about "noble being more quiet than mantic . . ." . . . no longer applies, also...

    Re: Noble Dailys: Successes or Failures?

    @sudodus:

    Thanks for the reply . . . I do have mkusb installed in my now Noble edition of Lubuntu, but seems like it isn't included in the /etc/apt/sources.list data, and is kept in "other...

    Re: Noble Dailys: Successes or Failures?

    et al:

    So, had a couple of moments to spare, so I edited my Lubuntu mantic sources which pulled in 1017 packages and on reboot everything seems to be running well. Noble is running the machine...

    @1fallen:

    Thanks for the fast reply . . . well, April isn't that far away . . . . : - ) I'm OK with Mantic, it seems to be "steadying down" on my machine, today booting it up didn't spin up the...

    Re: Noble Dailys: Successes or Failures?

    haven't been following the thread, just passing through . . . I'm running my Lubuntu install in mantic right now. I usually edit the sources list to move up in iteration, I'm assuming...
  6. [lubuntu] Re: Mantic seems to rev the gpu fairly high on cold boot in '12 MacPro

    @guiverc:

    So I took the time to download the daily Ubuntu Desktop system and flash it to usb drive . . . booting from the usb drive I would say does not produce the speeding up of the GPU the way...
  7. [lubuntu] Re: Mantic seems to rev the gpu fairly high on cold boot in '12 MacPro

    @guiverc:

    Thanks for the reply and the thoughts . . . might get to reporting it on the QA . . . that does take time, filing the bug report and so forth. But, "the kernel" . . . might explain the...
  8. [lubuntu] Re: Mantic seems to rev the gpu fairly high on cold boot in '12 MacPro

    et al:

    Yes, this issue of the gpu spinning up to higher revs just to get itself going . . . this morning about 4 mins and now settled down to "normal" gpu speeds . . . continues.
  9. [lubuntu] Mantic seems to rev the gpu fairly high on cold boot in '12 MacPro

    The issue of Mantic seeming to "load" the gpu quite a bit on cold boot has recurred several times since moving to Mantic. It seems to run it at higher "revs" for 4 or 5 mins before dropping itself...

    Re: Ubuntu 23.10 will be Mantic

    @1fallen:

    Cool. Usually things go smoothly, but then, when they don't it can be time consuming. I do like actual rolling distros . . . which I do have a few of them. So far ubuntu isn't rolling...

    Re: Ubuntu 23.10 will be Mantic

    Cool. I have my sources.list now set for "lunar" rather than "devel" . . . because I run apt dist-upgrade weekly, so I don't want to worry about the transition phase when that might cause issues,...
