After trying fglrx driver flickering is still there. In VLC or in UMPLAYER, I prefer umplayer since it's faster and lighter and less resource hungry..

I've misstyped, I also use open source drivers for radeon...
I've changed output driver in umplayer to X11 and I can watch video in full screen mode. But there is flickering.

I just had to change AHCI to IDE mode in bios since I have sata :)

I am having problem with cdrom on acer aspire 5410 with ubuntu 9.10.
When I insert a cd or dvd ubuntu won't recognize it. Also when I try to eject it it won't eject it the first time...
Hm.. So Ubuntu 9.10 uses some kind of a device kit instead of HAL. How does this thing work? I would add some outputs but I don't know how for known problems. Should I report this as a bug that CDROM...
