Re: Linux and the but and if question

I record music. Strange as it sounds, Linux still works well for me. That's because there's always Audacity. Yes, Audacity does work well on Linux, and it's just what I need. Oh, yeah, and it's FREE.

    Re: Simpler Installs in Ubuntu?

    Here's my advice:

Personally, alpha testing Lucid since A1, I have to say it looks like Karmic, but fixes most of the flaws. PulseAudio is by far the most harrowing audio utility out there, I...

    Re: Robots

Of course, we could always have dummies connected to a "control center" wirelessly, and sort of "remote controlled" by one person. Technically, this will be enough to allow cheap machine-run labor.

    Re: Simpler Installs in Ubuntu?

There is the Ubuntu Software Center, which is a more detailed Synaptic that's easier to interpret. It currently replaces the "Applications > Add/Remove" window in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, and is...

    Re: Robots

Considering a current CPU is clocked at 3 GHz and hard drive currently holding 2 TB of data, it would take a lot to reach the status of the human brain at 1,000,000.....,000 (10 billion zeros) GHz...
  8. I am having trouble using the "cat" command recursively

How is it possible to concatenate files recursively into a disk image? I know the cat command won't do it. Is there another thing that will? I want to know.

Re: Linux made me smile today...

As far as I'm concerned, I have some hardware (iPods, anyone?) that doesn't work that well with Linux. However, I still am able to record music on Linux (with Audacity).

Well, here's the list of open source projects Google has in place:

Re: What's new in Lucid Lynx?

Yes. Panel and window transparency all in one. You see, RGBA is color gamma blur. It is a blur of the window border color, and it causes the window to therefore appear crystal clear. It is also what...

Re: Is Google's Chrome OS Good for Linux?

Chrome OS may, by itself, not be that feature-rich. However, what if somebody edited the "build_chrome.sh" script to take advantage of JHBuild instead of Make to build code, not to mention building...

Re: What's new in Lucid Lynx?

There aren't that many default UI changes as of this moment. However, there will be later on. Case in point: RGBA gamma. Currently, you have to hack GTK+ to enable RGBA. In Lucid Lynx, it will be...

Re: GNU Hurd, when will it come out?

GNU Hurd is even older than Linux, for one. Two, it already came out - in the 1980's! Three, it does not have good hardware support - at all!

GNU Hurd != new kernel. GNU Hurd == OLDER than Linux.
