I don't know what you're talking about, the proprietary driver works just fine work normal wi-fi usage (including WPA-WPA2)

Well, no, I wanted to do whatever it takes to make wlan0 appear in the network interfaces list, which (it seems to me) involves using the b43 driver through b43fwcutter.
