I see that a lot people talking about openjdk (linux) and java 7 being exploited and such. I check my ubuntu 12.04 and it seems I'm running Oracle Java 8! Now that's weird since no one has mentioned...
I've used Autoscan-network for a long time and it's the best tool i can think of. It worked as it should for awhile until a few weeks ago. Every time i run it, it doesn't scan the network at all....

did you remove and clean previous installations? Check dependencies, and run the usual commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y upgrade
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get autoremove ...
You forgot to list the rest of the information on the back label of the laptop, such as: Serial#, US, IC, SCT, etc...

This type of issue happened to me once when I missed with CentOS firefox bin files. Anyway, if you have installed it from UCS, go back and uninstall it, do the following:
sudo apt-get update...
You want Vbox 4.2, get it ----> here<----- from the official website, it's a deb format, double click and install.

At the end of the installation, do not click "Remove Installation Folder" button. I manually deleted the folder, then clicked the button, and that was it.
Forget about apache not starting, I have fixed it by removing and reinstalling a fresh 1.8.0 version.
