I'm reasonably sure that the gtk-message and the (numerous) LIBDBUSMENU-GLIB-WARNING errors aren't to do with the crash - I've seen them before when running steam in a terminal.
I feel like this...
At some point in the last week one of the updates has made Dota 2 crash when using bumblebee. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
Just using Intel's GPU works fine (but obviously...
I'm afraid I don't personally have any experience with that (nor a way of testing it).
This is fixed with the latest updates to nvidia-331 (specifically -ubuntu3)
Which kernel version are you running? The nvidia drivers don't currently work with 3.13 - I've downloaded 3.12 from the mainline ppa and this works fine for me in conjunction with bumblebee.
This appears to be a known problem with the nvidia driver on kernels 3.13+ https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/644906/linux/331-20-on-3-13-rc1-kernel/
EDIT: I can confirm that using 3.12 from...
It seems like nvidia-331 is no longer pulling in nvidia-prime as a dependency, which is handy. So at least I can install the nvidia driver and still boot to my normal desktop. Unfortunately at this...
I've found what I think are relevant errors.
kern.log:

Ok, cheers. I do quite like the bumblebee way of doing things though (which, as I understand it, only powers up the nvidia GPU when optirun is called, as opposed to nvidia-prime, which uses the...
Yes, when I have nvidia-331-updates, nvidia-prime (which is pulled in as a dependency), and bumblebee-nvidia.
Is this likely to be an issue? Thanks for the reply!
I'm up-to-date with all the latest trusty updates. In addition I have the xorg-edgers and bumblebee ppa installed, although this bug also existed before I added those repos. I have an nVidia GTX 640M...
I've been having similar problems as well (also on an laptop with a discrete nVidia card + intel processor). I haven't been able to find any useful error messages yet, partly because I'm not sure...
Thanks for those links. I actually found my answer at askubuntu, via this page: http://dan-orth.com/wp/installing-ubuntu-12-04-on-asus-u46e-resolving-boot-issue/

Is there a sub-forum where this question would be better asked?
Bump! This seems like a major regression to me.
I've installed the latest security updates for 11.10. This bumped the kernel version from 3.0.0-12 to -26. I get the same error with -26 - that is, I cannot boot at all.
If it would help, I should...
I've been experiencing problems with the latest ubuntu stable releases. I've installed 12.10, 12.04.1 and 11.10 all from USB, and they all function fine in LiveUSB mode.
However, after...
I'm having trouble with this as well. Running natty, so using 2.6.27-8 x86_64.
It seems alleviated by running
echo disable > /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe01
Source.
Okay, thanks that part now works. Now my device is assigned an IP address.
However I still can't access the internet from my device. I tried using internet connection sharing with firestarter, but...

I'm interested in buying this device. Basically, I need any wifi USB stick that will (preferably easily) run in master mode so I can set up a wifi hotspot for my phone (which can't connect to ad-hoc...
