My problem is not updating... my problem is I don't have boarders.
Where are my window boarders????
I did an update on my 11.10, probably the last 2 weeks worth of updates, and all my menus and menu boarders are now GONE.
Literally I have no boarders on any windows.
How to reproduce:
1)...
I'm noticing gettime errors in every process, usually browsers, but also Xorg and compiz. I'm running latest ubuntu 11.10 32bit.
So an strace on ANY process reveals gettimeofday and clock_gettime...
Anyone?
Is there a global setting for compiz to adjust brightness? I already know how to modify brightness for an individual window; I'm asking how to do it on all windows/taskbar/menus.
Using Ubuntu...
thank you!!!!!
What tells ubuntu what a single click does, a double click does? In terminal window, on the desktop, etc.
ubuntu gnome
Has anyone found a way to turn off single clicking on empty space selects whole line?
What's going on here? Why does clicking empty spaces in terminal highlight/select the entire blank line?
That's seriously annoying....
I can't find an option to turn it off.
I'm using...
1 left click on empty space highlights the whole empty space???
Why is this happening to me! =(
I have the latest latest of everything and it still happens....
So what's the fix??? Hold left ctrl all the time? There's gotta be a better solution...
Cool thanks, I'll reply as soon as I try it.

jmml made a USB image. You could put it on a USB stick and boot your computer with it and test it out. I read that you could boot from a USB image and then install the OS to your PC, at least thats...
Maybe I should ask a better question: How do I set up my e-mail address on linux so that programs or scripts can send me mail when I call on an envirnment like MAILTO?
Thank you.
If you installed 9.10 fresh, you should be editing grub.cfg in /boot/grub. What files do you have in your /boot/grub folder?
Hi. I'm trying to send e-mails from cron to my e-mail address with the MAILTO environment, but it's not working. I'm running x86 ubuntu 9.04.
First I had to set the MAILTO with export...
