This is still a thing. Primarily when waking after sleep, now.
I updated the router settings - it was previously on WPA Auto and is now WPA2-PSK[AES].
The first code may not have worked, as it printed "options [etc]" and the sudo tee command didn't visibly do...
I have a Toshiba Satellite computer (C55-A-1RD), and am having WiFi issues.
Cannot connect to wireless networks - wired is and always has been fine.
Often dropping connection to networks, but...
Just adding to this, I've used a machine recently where to even get to the BIOS you had to ESCAPE the boot menu, DELETE, and then SPACEBAR, then select BIOS from a list of options. Definitely look...
Super, that's sorted it. Thanks very much! I don't think there was anything for the system there, since I only use it for media storage (rather than the OS). Hopefully it'll be fine :P
Thanks. Output of df -h is confusing me a little:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sdb1 281G 266G 779M 100% /media/Misc
Taking used from size >> Available.

If you're making a media server on the local network, I can't recommend Plex more. It has support on pretty much every device (including Chromecast, Android, iOS and web) and is also available on...
Ask for step-by-step help if you need it.
Just adding to this, if you don't have another computer - and can't borrow someone's to make a LiveCD/LiveUSB, you can always order one from the...

In nautilus (and other file managers), the...
Honestly nowadays I reckon you could get away with pretty much anything. Sometimes you might be a bit more unlucky and have to find some drivers for compatibility with a completely obscure Wifi card...
Not sure entirely what you mean by this, but if you mean install the GNOME Shell desktop environment, there are some great instructions at OMG! Ubuntu!
I just uninstalled Skype and went to install Google Music first. That installs fine, but then Skype gives dependency issues.
It appears as though one package requires a library to be one version...
There are three main ways of installing applications in Ubuntu.
1. Use the Ubuntu Software Centre
Consider the Mac App Store in this instance. Whereas with OS X, you will have most of the...
If you're just setting up a launcher for a file you probably want something like this:
gedit ~/Desktop/file.txt
Where gedit is the GNOME Text Editor (installed by default in Ubuntu) and the rest...
Unity Tweak Tool would be my pick for the latest versions of Ubuntu, as it has a number of features that are handled by other apps, but without some things that don't apply to Unity.
The top menu...
I don't think this has been posted previously, so apologies if it has.
Ubuntu 13.04

So I installed Skype on Ubuntu 13.04; then I went to install Google Music...
Plain old.. No strings attached.. Bump. :)

Hi all!
I'm thinking of taking to the Internet Radio station, JukeBox Radio (it's licensed and legal, don't worry :P), but I don't know of anything that I can use!
No DJs on the station use...
Yeah, that sort of thing really helps. Especially the Ubuntu documentation, it's quick, clear, easy to understand and to the point. :D
Thanks again ;)
