Would you run fuppes on a desktop edition or would you use a server platform?
Yes I'd like to run it headless, and as of now I was planning on using ubuntu 9.04 server ed. I'd like to stream over the entire "interwebs" as it were, with both windows and linux. I have a file...
Hi all! I don't know if this is possible, but I want to create a server on which I can host my videos and stream them from any computer. Does anyone know of a way I can go about this using a linux...
I actually figured it out, I had blocked my
AllowUsers <username>
in my /etc/ssh/sshd_config file. Simply uncommented them and it works now!
Thanks for the help anyway! Cheers!
I want to create accounts for my friends to log on to my server with, and I'm having trouble. I've used adduser and gone through all the password making and stuff, but when I log out and test it, it...
Well the reason this happens is because when you configure your graphics, you compiling it for that specific kernel, In your case .15, but when you upgrade, it is not compiled for .17. I had some of...
Hey Ryzol, Check this link out http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-7455.html It looks like it might be what your looking for!
Cheers!
Gnome Partitioner has always worked for me
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115843&package_id=125754
Create a boot CD or live USB and just follow the instructions. Configure...
Well First of all its easier to install Windows first and then throw on a Linux Operating System. Do you have a lot of files already or are you brand new?
No problem! Glad to be of assistance.

Are you just planing to wipe the IDE drive? and have you already got a system working on y our 9GB drive or are you starting from scratch?
The way to do this would be using G-parted or something...
When you try and drag a window what happens?
If it splits up and is really laggy it is graphics driver problems. And you might just have to deal with it until you can find and install the right...
sorry for the bad command, I didn't check it. I should have, my bad.
Glad you got it working though.
It might be a problem with permissions
sudo nvidia-settings
then configure and save and you should be good. I apologise if you've already fixed the problem.
Cheers!
Just hit up the terminal and type
sudo nvidia-settings
this will bring up all your info and from there you can change your configuration to twin view etc...
save and exit and you should be set!...
If you still have a live cd you can boot from that and there should be a recover existing OS option. I'd give that a try.
No problem, If you have any trouble installing just hit up the forums.
Type in terminal
sudo nano /etc/grub.conf
and at the top of that you'll see
default 0
all you have to do is change the "0" to whichever boot option XP is. It's probably the last...
I would go for the 8.10 64-bit I used 8.10 for a long time and it worked really well. I would assume that the RAM would automatically utilize the 64-bit capability with no needed drivers so it should...
Do you have a live cd? if so you could boot from that you could select fix broken packages. That might do it. It could be that if you removed some of those packages, you could have removed some...
Well my first assumption would be that you maybe burned it too fast. Try lowering the speed to like 8x or 4x. Before you do that though, make sure the file type your burning is readable by whatever...
I'm pretty sure those are older drivers, I would check for the new ones. I have the 8800gt, but I don't think the drivers would be much different. Try using the nvidia-glx-180, you might have better...
To me it looks like you have some USB 1.1 ports. And If you try and plug a USB 2.0 in there it could effect speed. It looks like you have one 2.0 port so try and determine which that one is. How old...
If you have a live cd you could try and boot from that to fix broken packages. And it sounds like you might have to reinstall the nVidia drivers.
Well do you still have that problem? Because now I think there is a check box that fixes that? Correct me if I'm wrong
