I'm running Zorin OS 16 Lite on my 17 year old Dell Inspiron E1505 from 2006, which is a 64bit laptop. I upgraded the old 120GB HDD to a 160GB SSD, it cannot take anything higher than 160GB. The RAM...
AFAIK, yes. On the same thread, there's a command to remove old revisions of snaps:
After uninstalling a snap, a copy of the uninstalled snap is stored in /var/lib/snapd/cache/ and overtime after many uninstallations, it gets populated, mine was about 2GB, so clearing this restored...
I agree, snap runs great now, there was a time when Firefox's snap would take longer to load but that was fixed by Canonical in later revisions, but what I'm criticizing snap on is unease of...
Alternatively, you could just install Brave via Flathub: https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.brave.Browser
I have Brave installed through Flathub and it's working well.
Snap still needs improvements though, some quality of life improvements, here are some bug reports and I and others have made:
Bug #2017926 "Unused content snaps not autoremoved"
Bug #2018626...
Found the culprit.
It was an hold over from my 20.04 backup, I backed up my home folder from 20.04 and I made a bash script for File Manager that had this code in it:
/usr/bin/thunar '$*'

I figured out a workaround to this issue:
I created a bash script and saved in it /home/ardouronerous/.local/bin/thunar.
#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/thunar "$*"
This seems to have fixed the...
It's installed already. So, it's not that.

Thanks, but I'm not sure if this is related to my problem anymore though since it's not my USB is the problem, it's Thunar.
As you can see from the screenshot, as a test, I've created a folder...
UPDATE:
It's not just my USB that's being affected by this, but my whole filesystem. As a test, I've made a folder called "My Stuff" on my home directory and when I try to right click and "Open...
Sorry, I should I have been clearer, while Thunar gives out the "no such file or directory" error, I can still manually get to the USB directory directly from Thunar, the problem only happens when I...
I bought this last year, and yes I formatted it and that was the name given to it after format. There's personal files in it. And I don't have any other OS to try it on.
BTW, this issue also...
I'm running Xubuntu 22.04.
As you can see from the screenshot, my USB flash drive is named "USB DISK" and upon mount, Thunar doesn't want to open the USB folder, complaining that no directory...
Same, I prefer flatpak over snap.
It's always been a policy of mine to leave default software alone and don't use them, but I kinda want snap to succeed and this is why did those bug reports so...
Hello guys, I and some other people have created bug reports for snap and I think these bug reports need more eyeballs.
Bug #2017926 "Unused content snaps not autoremoved"
Bug #2018626 "Unused...
Thank you guiverc for your response. I will process what you have written and will make my decision accordingly on whether to upgrade to Linux Mint or stay with Xubuntu and upgrade to 22.04.
