    I figured out the lines for me are caused by not having the Indicator Applet on the panel. Re-added the applet and no more lines.

    I can't seem to figure out what is causing these vertical lines in my notification area. After a reboot there are no lines, then over time it keeps getting more....

    Running_rabbit I already posted that. they don't want branch or trunk build. they want final release in .deb form because it's hard to extract a file but easier to install a .deb. :rolleyes:

    No one does it because there is really no reason to, when you can download the TAR from Mozilla and extract it and you're done.

    Well why don't you start that PPA then? I don't see what's so hard about downloading it from Mozilla, extract it somewhere in your /home/, then just make a link to ~/<user>/thunderbird/thunderbird....

    Then why not use the Ubuntuzilla script? It downloads the current vanilla build and even has an option to update it when a update is released.

    well i haven't even sen chrome in action since no linux builds are out. I'm not installing windows just to try out a browser. I've been with FF since version .5, and I think I'll stay. I'd rather not...

    reason why chrome runs faster is because there are no addons. FF runs just as fast without addons. Try a FF 3.1 nightly build sometime. JIT rocks.
