    Both windows media player plugin and quicktime plugin are from Gecko Media Player on my system. Just install the package gecko-mediaplayer and restart firefox. You might have to unistall totem, etc....

    FFMpeg is actually quite easy:

    ffmpeg input_vid.sample output_vid.convert FFMpeg guesses how to convert it based on the file extension of the output video, so it's not too difficult.

    It might be the same thing with windows. I think hibernate uses disk space to save the current state, so how much free disk space do you have? Other than that, I couldn't tell you what the problem is

    mount

    and post the output here?

    Did you use that initially use "sudo visudo" to edit /etc/sudoers ? Cuz if you didn't, that may cause an error.
