I am having the same issue now, although I have a Radeon 6870 card. I am able to switch consoles and start lightdm manually just fine. Can this battery check be disabled? I don't have a laptop.

Skype doesn't do 1080p anywhere. You can still record 1080p using the included software on Windows. I just skype from Windows because Linux doesn't like see the mic on my 510.

I like the desktop app. A little quirky but I'm glad to have it considering the poor Linux support of other companies like Netflix.

I agree with you guys. I had Pidgin working like a finely tuned violin. Empathy so far is more like a banjo. I'd rather not use IM than use Empathy without plugin capability.

i tried to enable desktop cube and now when I log in I get NO window decoration at all. I ran ccsm from terminal and disabled the cube.

Is there any way to use keys or mouse to rotate the current workspace? I liked using the mouse wheel to switch workspaces with Compiz? Do you have to ditch Unity to make that work?

This issue seems to have just started (or at least noticed) with 10.10. When I add jobs to a queue then select Start only the last job is actually run. All the others appear to run but immediately...
