    [ubuntu] root running emacs22?

    hi,

    I have just noticed I whole lot of disc-activity on my laptop. 'top' showed me that root was running 'emacs22'...?

    Does anyone which process that starts emacs? (and why)

    The thread is old - but anyway.. I had the same problem and solved it by adding:

    print("\0");

    right before the call to initDefaults() in the colorgcc-script.

    [ubuntu] xfig menu problem?

    I am experiencing a problem with the menu in xfig. The menu hides the buttons underneath. When I resize the window (make it smaller) the menu places itself correctly. Can anybody help?

    Yes, I can see all available networks and now connect to the unencrypted ones . I can also see the WPA-encrypted network, but is not able to connect to it.

    That did improve things a bit. I can now connect to unencrypted networks, but I still have no luck with WPA. Any ideas?

    iwconfig does look healthy both when it is connected and when it isn't.

    When I do:

    sudo /etc/dbus-1/event.d/26NetworkManagerDispatcher stop...

    Yes, I have installed the module. I guess it could be an issue with the Network Manager - do you have any good clues how to find out?
