What does it show in "additional drivers" in the "software & updates" settings? It may list a bunch of alternate drivers that you can try. Also, I noticed you have no volume control on the taskbar....

Have you gone into your BIOS settings and made sure it's booting from the Samsung HD first?

If you still have your install disk you might want to try booting into nomodeset through F6 on the main install menu. That should at least get you in there, and then you can sort out the driver issue...
