[ubuntu] Re: Macbook pro, Parallels and 12.04

keyboard and mouse work fine using virtualbox (mac book pro, ubuntu 12.04, mac os x 10.7.3, virtualbox 4.1.14); as such the problem may be with parallels.

[gnome] Re: Panel and Icon Display Problems

FYI, today's updates to 11.04 killed the fix used from post #7. Anyone with a suggestion for a new fix? Sorry I can't figure this out myself.

[gnome] Re: Panel and Icon Display Problems

Thank you - that fix was good for the panels. The icons, however, do not change to the correct theme.

[gnome] Panel and Icon Display Problems

I've upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04, and now I'm experiencing some problems with the displaying of panels and icons that I'm hoping someone can help me to fix.

    Situation:
    Running 11.04 in latest...

[ubuntu] Re: Error while Mounting /etc/fstab

I get the same error after updating 9.10 to 10.4. I'm guessing that it has to do with my editing the fstab file previously to automount a shared folder (I use ubuntu as a vm on my mac). Like the...

    [ubuntu] Re: where is g77??????

If fort77 is in the repositories (it does install and does appear to work as I tried fort77 with a few simple programs), why can't g77 be included? This doesn't make any sense to me.

[ubuntu] Re: Seriously need to get g77 back on Intrepid 8.10

I've tried this; doesn't install. A laundry list of dependencies occur, which can be fixed by searching out and installing the correct libraries. Upon doing this, however, subsequent 8.10 updates...

[ubuntu] Re: Seriously need to get g77 back on Intrepid 8.10

I'm also very interested in the steps used for compiling g77 on ubuntu 8.10.

As for switching to OpenSuse, yes, I'm serious. Right now, I'm waiting until the next version of OpenSuse is released...

[ubuntu] Re: Seriously need to get g77 back on Intrepid 8.10

I agree. The developers really need to reconsider thier removal of g77 from ubuntu. Fortran 77 (g77) and Fortran 95 (gfortran) are not equivalent.

This is exactly the reason why I left...

[ubuntu] Re: URGENT 8.10 - Where has g77 gone

I've enabled all repositories in the preferences of synaptic, and can't find g77 either.
  13. [ubuntu] Re: Gnumeric plots bug - running 8.10 through virtualbox

The problem/bug is specific to virtualbox. I've installed 8.10 directly on a different machine (i.e., not through virtualbox), and have experienced no problems with plots in gnumeric.
  14. [ubuntu] Gnumeric plots bug - running 8.10 through virtualbox

    Hello,

Anyone else having problems with plots in gnumeric in 8.10? I can create a plot, but when I select the plot with my mouse, I can't unselect the plot. So the plot just follows the mouse...

    Poll: Re: Evolution or Thunderbird?

I voted for Evolution. Mainly for two reasons. 1) Thunderbird's contact list doesn't cleanly import vcards, and 2) integration of Evolution's calendar into Gnome.

    I honestly tried switching to...

Poll: Re: How to: Broadcom Wireless cards

When extracting the card's firmware, I've seen this done differently by two seperate "How-To's". Which is correct?

[SOLVED] Re: HOW-TO: Install DVD Shrink with Wine in Breezy

DVD Shrink doesn't need to see your drives if you use an image of the dvd you want to copy. Here's what I do, and it has yet to fail for me.
