  2. [ubuntu] Lenovo Ideapad S12 - Intel Atom N270/NVIDIA ION - will it run Ubuntu 12.04

    Hi folks,

I've left it a long time so bugs can be ironed out - please oculd you confirm whether Ubuntu 12.04 will run happily on a Lenovo Ideapad S12, spec as above, with full hardware...
  3. Re: Linux users now locked out of Blinkbox - they're going over to Silverlight.

For my part, I just don't care. Please could Canonical ink whatever deals are needed to give me applications I can download from the Partner repo to play Blinkbox content. I don't care if it's...
  4. Re: Linux users now locked out of Blinkbox - they're going over to Silverlight.

Hollywood have leant on them and insisted they go to Silverlight and PlayReady along with Lovefilm and Netflix...
  5. Re: Linux users now locked out of Blinkbox - they're going over to Silverlight.

    Apologies. msg duly edited.
  6. Re: Linux users now locked out of Blinkbox - they're going over to Silverlight.

And Hollywood, when the Moonlight devs offered to add the DRM logic, flatly rejected them - I understand the second word was "off".

And they want to defeat piracy?
  7. Linux users now locked out of Blinkbox - they're going over to Silverlight.

  8. [ubuntu] Re: How Do I Revert Back To A Previous Version Of Adobe Flash Player?

What really ought to have happened is that rather than Flash 11 being packaged as Flash 10... it should have been packaged separately, and adobe-flashplugin repointed as a meta-package...

    Would...

  11. [ubuntu] Re: Why is Update Manager so slow this weekend?

So.. give it a week? I'm not about to dig into Software SOurces to see where I'm pulling from if the servers are under that much stress.

  12. [ubuntu] Why is Update Manager so slow this weekend?

    Hi folks,

  13. Re: Should Adobe Have Their Linux Foundation Membership Revoked?

One massive dealbreaker this side of the pond will be the case of BBC iPlayer, ITV NetPlayer, 4OD and Demand5. All of which use Adobe Flash - and instst on the Adobe product.

    Even *I'm* thinking...

    Re: Installing Google Chrome

Do Canonical have plans to offer Chrome through the Partner repository? Thus making it easier to get and manage?

Maybe have something akin to the Flash installer package of old...?
  16. [ubuntu] Re: Flash update today not working.

LAtest update gives me accelerated rendering again on my Lenovo Ideapad S12, but it doesn't allow me to search back in the clip I'm playing without crashing Flash.

    Another step forward, though...
  17. [all variants] Re: How to get Flash GPU Accelleration - but BBC iPlayer?

It gets worse - on an Intel Atom N270+NVIDIA ION - iPlayer loses video - or freezes a short way in.

Basically - it looks as though the Beeb have broken iPlayer completely for Ubuntu+NVIDIA by...
