Hi nex2,
I have never used Windows 10 before and my X1 Tablet is only running Linux so I cannot comment on that part of your posting -- sorry for that.

Hi nex2,

The battery is indeed not the strongest...
FYI and in case you are interested in the device; this is actually hard to believe but Ubuntu 16.04 runs perfectly with almost all features out of the box on the new Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Tablet.

I have exactly the same problem running sudo dpkg --configure -a:

Btw, do not install the latest intel drivers via intel-linux-graphics-installer. As you can read from the many reports online, this may render your unity desktop unusable as you will no longer be...
@lelinolino: Yes, yes, yes! Thank you very much for saving my weekend in just 5 min!
Can somebody give me a hand with the kernel? Whenever I try to install kernel 4.4 the system will only boot to busybox and alert me that /dev/disk/by-uuid/...../ does not exist.
The UUID...
Don't worry. I got my system fixed and working again for the most parts. After all, breaking your OS is one of the great joys of running Linux. Anyway, good to know that I am not the only person that...
Thanks. Unfortunately this totally broke my system :-(.
If I use the intel card and connect to an external monitor, my laptop screen will turn off whenever the mouse cursor moves into it and...
Interestingly I cannot get kernel 4.4 to work. It just results in some errors during the boot process and that is it. I was able to get my hdmi issues fixed using a CableCreation USB-C to HDMI cable...
Did anybody manage to get HDMI work reliably? I can get it working but it takes 1-3 minutes on average and in some cases requires multiple restarts. This is totally unacceptable when having to...
Just FYI, I am running kernel 4.3.3-040303-generic right now
In my case kernel 994 fixed the audio issues. Also, have you tried playing around with alsamixer?
I am using the 994 kernel with the nvidia 352.63 driver and prime for switching. The switching works great and HDMI works 90% of the time, it just takes a few seconds and pressing F8 a few times to...
Battery runtime, CPU update: Here is some interesting info from noteboockcheck.com. It looks like there is a bug in the Dell firmware when you unplug and run on battery, the firmware tries to put...
hmm, my headphone sound just stopped working. Does it still work for you guys?
While the numbers certainly look strange, 3 hours is exactly the value reported by a recent review of the FHD/56 version for Windows. Other reviews (for windows) report 6+ hours for the 4K/84 version...
And you are using prime to do so, right?
I was told that USB-C to HDMI and Display port cables are not well supported by Linux in general, which product did you buy?
I cannot get any 4.4 kernel working. The HDMI issue aside I am happy with the machine despite the screen being super glossy and the webcam being totally pointless. The HDMI situation is super...
@quickdry21. Sorry to hear about your problems. The only thing I can really recommend is to backup your home folder and make a clean install following the initial posting in this thread but using 4.3...
Hi simone22, have you followed these steps?
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PowerManagement/ReducedPower
I am using the 4.3 994 kernel, the newest intel drivers from https://01.org/ and the 352.63 drivers from nvidia and suspend and resume work great for me.
Hi quickdry21,
we have been discussing different kernels here. I assume you are interested in 4.3.0-994-generic, right? You should still be able to get it from...
I am very sensitive to noise as it distracts me from working and was worrying about exactly this. I had a Macbook Pro before and for everyday work (programming, latex, etc) the XPS 15 is silent but...
