Peter,
/sda is a 250 gig HD for windows. (Only one NTFS partition)
/sdb is a 500 gig HD for Linux (four partitions ext4, 2 Ubuntu (/root, /home), Fedora 13, swap).

I'm sure you covered it and I tried to find it but couldn't. I want grub to NOT look at an external drive while doing "update-grub" This external drive does not now and never will, hold any kernals...
