  1. Work around for Karmic problem with Kyocera PPD

There seems to be an incompatibility between Karmic's current printing setup (18/10/2009), and ver. 8.4 of the Kyocera PPD (certainly for the FS-C5xxxdn family).

    My FS-C5100dn is no longer...
  2. [ubuntu] SUCCESS syncing Treo 500 with Evolution in Ubuntu 8.10

Perhaps no big deal to some, but it's been a tortuous road here. FWIW what worked for me was to follow the instructions set out here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6258719&postcount=6/

Thanks for the Kino and mpeg-1 suggestion. Not great quality but it does actually work---unlike everything else I've tried! Mpeg-2 with VCD seems to lock up, when they play it, within a few seconds...

[other] Re: How do I send video to OS-X?

Thanks for that, but what I thought was a fairly basic question is turning out to be non-trivial!

My latest attempt (using the mp4 container) was with the MPEG-4 AVC (x264) video codec and AAC...

[other] How do I send video to OS-X?

I need to send a video clip to a relative who has a bog standard OS-X setup. They are not confident about tweaking software, etc. so loading a plugin to Quicktime Player (or installing VLC), is not...
