    [ubuntu] Re: python beginner

Python isn't my primary language but I do use it quite a bit so here's my two cents.

Most of what you'll find out there is v2.6 (or at least compatible with it) so I'd probably start there.

  3. [all variants] Re: Solution for an interface for a linux media computer?

That's how mine is set up: regular ubuntu with mythtv installed.
You can just launch mythfrontend whenever you fell like using it.
Myth control center isn't really all that useful except for...

Not sure if this would work for you, but this is what I have:

A mythtv server in my office which records tv and has my movies, music, and pictures.

Three WD TV Live boxes on the tvs in the...

    I had the same problem.
Not sure if this will work for you but...

  9. [ubuntu] Re: VNC: frozen screen connection after 9.04 upgrade

[ubuntu] Re: firefox dies after opening 3 windows

Both commands return immediately with no errors.
    Still the same lockup.
During this time firefox shows 102% (huh?) cpu usage although you wouldn't know it from the snappiness of other apps opened...

[ubuntu] Re: firefox dies after opening 3 windows

I doubt it. I'm not using much of what I have, and this is a fairly recent phenomenon.

I pulled this before I caused a lockup just now:
    Mem: 3367288k total, 923088k used, 2444200k free,

Odd problem here on a dual core 4 gig ram machine with all updates.

Firefox locks up, grays out, and needs to be force quitted the instant you open 3 windows.
I can have two up with 50 tabs, or...
