[ubuntu] Re: Mouse Wheel Broken in Intrepid

Make sure you don't have any mouse-related configuration files lingering around. Make sure the xorg.conf file is clean and free of any mouse configurations. If, in the past, you had any remapping...

[ubuntu] Re: Mouse Wheel Broken in Intrepid

My MX510's thumb buttons stopped working after the upgrade to Intrepid. But after tinkering around with all the suggestions on how to configure HAL, I finally got it down!

    There is no...

    Re: Wmv9 on AMD64

WMV9 works out-of-the-box after upgrading to Feisty. The 64-bit MPlayer and Totem-gstreamer both play WMV9 files smoothly in most cases. I'd gather this is because the open source WM9 codec has...

Re: Configuring Logitech mice (mx500, etc)

I noticed that, at a glance, your "Device" line in xorg.conf indicates "event9" while your cat output indicates "event1".

For what it's worth, I've fiddled around with my mouse configuration on...

Re: Configuring Logitech mice (mx500, etc)

It should. You can always disable your current mouse configuration in xorg.conf by commenting it out. If the new configuration doesn't work, just delete the new configuration and enable the old one.

Re: Configuring Logitech mice (mx500, etc)

Make sure you follow Section 1 of the first post. I see that your xorg.conf entry is not correct.

The Section 1 of the first post should at least get the side buttons working in Firefox as...

Re: Configuring Logitech mice (mx500, etc)

I used yours as a template and this worked fine for me in Ubuntu 6.06. Here's mine:

    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Mouse0"
    Driver "evdev"
    Option "Dev Name"...

Re: Configuring Logitech mice (mx500, etc)

This has been a common question for laptop users. I do not own a laptop, so I do not know the correct answers. But I did a little searching on the forum and found this thread that sounds related:

Re: Configuring Logitech mice (mx500, etc)

It is my experience that, when using the "ExplorerPS/2" protocol, the cruise up button will generate 2 button events. That is, it will scroll up once, and then generate the "back" thumb button's...

ПОПТОНЖ, could you explain, in your understanding, what virtualization is? And how it leads to one software running on OS A, linking a library in OS B (like your Adobe example)? It is my...
