    DVD was in for all of the info up top. Just ran mount with and without disk.

    Problem has went away. Downloaded 11.04, created USB boot disk, and 11.04 loaded with no issues. Updates work fine, system is running happily ever after.

    Nope, that delivers the same feed back. As does upgrade -f, update -f, the partial upgrade through Update Manager, and the Update/Upgrade through Synaptic. They all crap out with the same error...

    Fixed. Hooked hdd up to mb on another desktop. Ran install with thumb drive. The world is right once again.
