Maybe fixed with the latest kernel update? I believe this was recently only in the last few days.. 3.5.0-19?
Does this help anyone with the V3-571G? I have a broadcom wifi card on a Dell laptop that is equally unstable under Ubuntu, when I first started using it the connection would peak and gradually drop...

Hey it was andreadi who was wrong :P Shame it's not working, they do look like pretty good hardware for the money. Can you lspci and post the exact details of the device?

Also, does this mean the card is a broadcom wireless card? Earlier posts suggest it's an Atheros (ath9)..Another potential difference in models?
I was a bit confused by this as I thought they were either Intel *OR* NVidia and there wasn't an Optimus option, went to investigate the Acer website and found this. All with the same model number...
Any other issues experienced with the V3-571G laptops? All other hardware works as expected?? Thinking about getting one..

SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0403", GROUP="dialout"
then reloaded udev rules:
$ udevadm control --reload-rules
Ok so I figured out that it's related to file permissions in that doing the following then allowed the user to communicate with the device:
$ ls -l /dev/bus/usb/005/006
crw-rw-r-- 1 root root...
