    [ubuntu] Re: 12.10.iso problems

Yes Jerry, you can add it as a virtual CD. When the VM starts up it acts as if it were booting from a live CD. Marginally easier than using a USB drive.

Oh no, showstopper for me! I can't use Emacs. I suppose I can always fallback to vim !

    [ubuntu] Re: 12.10.iso problems

Just downloaded the daily build (May 15th) and booted using VirtualBox - no problem at all.

I'm running inside of VirtualBox and seeing some text corruption in the Window titles of the gnome-shell overview. Anyone else seeing that?

    Re: Very Beta Forum Theme

I have never had this happen to me before but after just a few minutes of looking at the new theme, my eyes hurt.

Absolutely weird but I can't look at the forum for very long. Is the orange too...

  8. Re: Typing extremely laggy in VirtualBox full screen, but normal in window

Sorry that this doesn't actually help you but I'm running 12.04 within VB on my Windows 7 64Bit Home Edition and it runs just fine in full screen mode (1920x1080). I'm using an Alienware X51.

Re: Upgrade to 12.04 No sound issue

I don't have a more permanent fix but I've found that ctrl-alt-f6 then ctrl-alt-f7 'fixes' it for me - sometimes needs a few attempts. Breaks eventually again.

[SOLVED] Re: Flash crashed :( bad sound quality

Similar problem here. Dreadful audio quality. Turning off hardware acceleration isn't a solution for this - it's for the strange colour issues that some users have reported.

    Re: Cannot print in Precise

I'm seeing the exact same thing with an old reliable HP printer. Works fine for the folks using 11.10, Windows 7 and Vista but for me, I need to go off and make a cup of tea to print a 3 page simple...
  12. Re: Anyone else hate the new "Print Screen" changes?

Dohh, that's why the PrntScn button "works" on my laptop in the office but not at home - the sound on the laptop at home is off. Both are actually working, I just didn't know it.

Re: Why isn't this getting any attention? (Emacs unusable)

Not sure that you can make that clearly unjustifiable statement - have you surveyed emacs users? Having said that, I'm one of the vast, vast majority of emacs users who do not use the toolbar,...
  14. [SOLVED] Re: Is nobody else using gnome-shell seeing ram figures like these?

My GS (3.3.92) runs for days between reboots without any issues. Currently using 206M (down from 215M earlier). I think that's a lot but hadn't noticed it, wasn't worried about it but now that you...

  18. Re: Anyone able to use Nvidia 173 drivers with Unity or GS?

    Hi,

Not answering your question directly - maybe you can't upgrade to a newer driver.

My card is an 8700M GT and I'm using the 280.13 driver (according to nvidia-settings).

    THANKS!

You were correct, the accounts service wasn't installed - I just assumed that it was part of the big update last week. Manually installing and running gnome-shell worked.

  22. Re: Bluetooth mouse & keyboard not working after today's updates

I started this thread. When I updated two days ago, the mouse and keyboard both worked. I didn't need to do anything. I noticed that there was a crash in the dmesg log, reported a bug etc.

  23. Re: Bluetooth mouse & keyboard not working after today's updates

No, that's the last time I updated that info. The sig contains more recent information.

I've raised a bug on this because there's a segv in the bluetooth manager which may be causing it.

    Hi all,

Just updated and now my mouse and keyboard will pair but will not function. They show up in dmesg but that's about it.
