    Have you tried this thread? This is for Phoenix BIOSes and you have a Toshiba one.

    In the boot menu. Is the first screen from Ubuntu when you start your system, just write down the given value and press Enter.

    It does matter!!!

    Forget about Vista specific changes. Sometimes Intel tells Toshiba to modify their BIOSes and they still write down "Vista specific changes".

    I strongly suggest you to upgrade...

    Yeah... the problem is your BIOS...so most probabily this will not work for you.

    There is another thread about toshiba and bluetooth compiling the bluetooth module, that might work... who knws.......

    Well. I don't really know if 4 reboots helped any.. I think there is a battery problem with some toshibas. If you turn it off and wait for about 5 minuts sometimes better than...

    Have you tried other "ectypes"... (10 to 15) there is also 12-modified.
    Most probabily some value will help you.
    Play a little bit with them.

    The problem with NFS shares and windows (in my case) has always been the speed. It's so slow that I always end up using SMB.
    I don't know if anyone experiences the same with XP ?

    Whether the host name has changed or it was not available when you executed the script (which is my guess)
