    Thanks!

Sorry if these questions seem strange. I'm just used to XP leaving a trail of trash behind after uninstalling, and I want to understand how to leave my Ubuntu install clean and smooth. I...

Re: I was right. Oracle is really on drugs.

I just wish OOo would get better compatibility with MSOffice. Importing a .doc file from one application to another does not work flawlessly. Quite often, formatting is lost, and embedded images are...

    Thanks for that tip!

Ok, I found the install log:

If I delete /usr/local/twonkymedia, does that take care of everything?

I have also found a Twonkymedia folder under /var. I presume...
  4. [ubuntu] Re: How to completely uninstall (twonkymedia server)

Thanks - I tried that, but the package is not in Synaptic (or at least, I couldn't find it).

Re: I was right. Oracle is really on drugs.

  9. [all variants] Re: Server: Where to use the faster hard-drives

In my opinion... if you are going to use a router in your network, the speed of transmission of data will probably always be limited by that, rather than by the speed of your HDD.

    I stream movies...

    "to a maximum of US$1,004"

When I read that, I found that a bit cheap. Thousands of people would buy music, thinking that they help save the lynx, and in the end the charity gets a maximum of...

[ubuntu] Re: Can't Boot Karmic LiveCD

I'm a bit confused... is the problem that you are unable to boot from HD, or that you are unable to boot from LiveCD?
