  1. [SOLVED] Re: AMD graphics broke after upgrade to 16.04

    Hi there!

I removed fglrx-core and restarted, voila!

When I did the upgrade to 16.04 (from 14.04 or whatever was the previous LTS) I did not consider any drivers, so I upgraded in place.

    [ubuntu] Re: SSH without passphrase

I did "ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub servername" and it outputted the expected response. Still, using ssh servername asks for the passphrase.

I'm using xmonad BTW, if there's a GNOME program...

Re: Mir vs. Wayland & effect on Linux "Ecosystem"?

I think it's a big split and I'm not too happy about it. Surely there's other places where effort is needed in Linux land. Canonical is a company though, yeay capitalism. I'd rather have them support...

Re: Window Maker is not dead :)

I remember using something like Window Maker along time ago. Tried getting back into it, but I kept using GNOME 2. Now with Unity and GNOME 3 I've moved onto XMonad full time. Maybe I'll give Window...

Amazon spyware bundled with Ubuntu. It's not good. Anyhow, can't one just install the server edition and add xmonad 'n' stuff oneself?

Re: Windows 7 and partitions, on Ubuntu machine

Not to interrupt the good talk here, but I managed to achieve what I wanted to do. Here's what I did:

Put Windows 7 on a USB stick (NTFS)
Resized a partition on the HDD leaving about 40 GB free...

Is there somewhere online you could put these notes on Windows 7 (and Linux)? A Ubuntu wiki, AskUbuntu or maybe some Stack Overflow place? Information wants to be free etc.

Re: Windows 7 and partitions, on Ubuntu machine

Thanks for the input. I'll try setting the boot flag with GParted. Will I be able to boot into Linux without the boot flag on the SSD?

Another thing, do I have to keep the boot flag on the HDD?...
