If you mean the checkbox called "Ask before emptying the Trash or deleting files" in nautilus under Edit -> Preferences -> Behavior, then it is already checked :S

I ended up buying the Yamaha PSR-E423 which is plug and play on Ubuntu :) It is not a 88 key but 61 is also fine for me :)

The exact same thing happened for me :S, after upgrading to 10.10 the indicator symbol disappeared, but going to Rhythmbox plugins section and changing it helped :)

Exactly, you can spend quite some time before it returns to normal. It is so annoying :(
