did both & rebooted. But ubuntu still no wifi with the comment 'disabled by hardware switch'. As i said before lenovo g530 has no wifi hardware switch & function+f5 appently is inop :-(.

since my lenovo g530 wireless has no solution is there a usb dongle that will do the wireless instead.

problem is g530 has no hardware wifi switch :-(. So did the wireless info script & found the network controller was broadcom [14e4:4315] (rev 01).

However, there was no wireless, only either net....

Broadcom WiFi thinks the wifi switch is off. Lenovo g530 has no external switch. HELP
