    Hi thanks for the tip! I tried the CPU Frequency monitor and I think what you say is right. I changed the settings back to AUTO in the BIOS and now the monitor shows 38% or 1 GHz. I never knew this...

    Very strange it would seem the values in the BIOS that I had set to AUTO were causing the processor to clock in at a lower than normal frequency. I changed the multiplier to 13 and set the FSB to 200...

    Hi.

    My system has an AMD 5000+ processor which has a frequency of 2.6GHz (2600MHz)

    I am running ubuntu 64bit 10.10 The system info tool shows CPU speed as 1000 MHz. I also did cat /proc/cpuinfo...
