With Kernel 3.9 and 3.10 most of my laptop FN keys don't work, just the volume keys and mute. With kernel 3.8.0 I had no problem and all the keys worked fine.

ASUS laptop (N56VZ) with Ubuntu 13.04...

What will "nvidia-current" install? The latest stable version of nvidia drivers? At this moment, nvidia 310?

I disabled the proposed packages and now everything works great ;)

I have an ASUS N56VZ laptop, and this is the first 3.8 kernel that I have problems with :/

I've just update RR to kernel 3.8.0-10 but for the first time my laptop can't boot with this kernel.
Went to Advance Options and booted with 3.8.0-9.

I think the problem is solved.
Following Harry33 idea that it shouldn't use xorg.conf at all, I've deleted it and rebooted the laptop.

The stupid thing is that Ubuntu then start with the lowest...

Before installing nvidia-310 (with RR fresh install) everything was working perfectly....

I think the problem is with my xorg.conf file.
