Sounds like a media problem. I would burn at the slowest speed possible, or maybe even redownload the image. Also what software did you use to burn it with?

Did you have a web browser open when installing flash? I ran into that problem before. Reinstall flash from Software Center with all browsers closed and reboot. Worked for me.

I did the updates for my netbook and everything works. Good Luck!
