    OK I think I got it I had already commented out the
    # include <sys/sysctl.h>
    and now I added
    # include <linux/sysctl.h>
    but no change it still gets the same errors on make command

    Should be no problem. Dell sells computers with ubuntu linux and I have converted several Dell Optiplex for our local library from windows to ubuntu with no issues.
