    Re: gNatty Gnome Live ISO

    Hi Cecil

Busy with life. Been living 50' from the Gulf from Jul-Oct, just moved into a new rental a little further inland but better layout & no landlord hassles.

    Been using Arch (Cinnarch...

    Re: Unity June screenshots

Firefox text fix goes inside the theme name/gtk-2.0/gtkrc (or an app fix in the gtk-2.0/styles) This should work with all problematic dark themes in Firefox.

You could also try it in...

    Re: Unity June screenshots

Don't know if you guys encounter this alot, but I used to when dealing with dark GTK themes, but have been meaning to share it.

Some dark themes have always been a problem with the text entry...

    Very nice! :)
  14. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

gnome-color-chooser only works on gtk-2.0. Firefox is gtk-2.0, Nautilus is gtk-3.0, which is why in a previous post traditionalist was unable to change things in Nautilus, etc..

    That being said,...
  15. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

Well it's easy to get confused, 18 months ago the "ubuntu-desktop" was gnome2. Then Unity got thrown in the mix & it became ubuntu-desktop. To add to the confusion the first Ubuntu had Unity, which...
  16. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

Between Gnome & Canonical it's easy enough to get that way these days.

Old & new thrown together and I don't think they differentiated things very well.
  17. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

:D It happens, I do it. I used to do it a lot. :)

Dave & I did veer from the stated topic, but it was directly related. My comments in reference to the Gtk were just some random thoughts about...
  18. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

There are only a few legacy apps that use gtk-2.0 on 12.04.

If you guys are trying to customize gnome-fallback that would be a different thread.

Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

I appreciate the enthusiasm guys but if you're not going to read the thread before "helping", at least read the title. :)
  20. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

No it doesn't. That's gnome-color-chooser, & he's not using gnome-shell. All that's doing is writing custom gtkrc file, which is gtk-2.0. This does nothing to the panel on Gnome shell, it doesn't...
  21. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

Interesting, it looks like gnome-color-chooser quite a bit. But it does gtk3 too? Does it do shell themes? I couldn't make it out looking at the images.
  22. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

Just make sure you have gnome-tweak-tool installed. Create ~/.themes if it doesn't exist. Download a theme, put it in the ~/.themes directory & extract it. Open gnome-tweak-tool, open the Themes...
  23. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

Depending on how you've installed your custom themes they could either be in ~/.themes/<theme name>/gtk-3.0 if you installed for local user. /usr/share/themes/<etc> for global.

    Yeah, if you can...
  24. [gnome] Re: Ubuntu with Gnome Shell: How do I change the font size in top panel

If he can pass that via daemon to the shell theme after reading it from a .conf file or the gtk theme, it should be possible to do something similar to @define_color, like the gtk3 .css. which to me...
