    I almost always remove "quiet' from the kernel arguments (near the end of line before splash) just to see all of what is really going on (behind the scenes/screen ) during boot up . . .

    run sfdisk -l and let's all see what is on the rest of the disk
    (this command just lists partitions, then exits)

    testdisk Structure: OK . . . this is good.

    try and run hexdump for the USB


    hexdump -C /dev/sdbif it starts running fast then <Ctrl-C> to stop
