Re: fglrx Driver Not Detecting Hardware

Thanks for the info I will remove the hold tonight, I'm currently on 1.12 and looks like it only wants to go to 1.14 so should be safe :)

Re: fglrx Driver Not Detecting Hardware

It *DOES* appear to want to upgrade xorg to the newest release on my 12.04.1 which is why I have put a hold on letting it upgrade. When I first got it working I think I recall reading that it will...

    [ubuntu] Re: Realtek RTL8111/8168B Problems

    G'day,

Thanks for that. Still definitely having the issue.

I believe its driver related. I might have to do a Win7 install on a spare HDD to triple confirm though.

    [ubuntu] Re: Realtek RTL8111/8168B Problems

    Hi varunendra,

using 8169 on 12.04.2, it would take a long time to initiate the ethernet connection after boot, it would then start dropping out and was only at 10Mb/s.

    Hi Crew,

There is plenty of threads about the Realtek RTL8111/8168B ethernet chipsets. I have read all that seem relevant, my issue seems to not have shown it's ugly head.

    Basically, I...

Re: fglrx Driver Not Detecting Hardware

Don't get me wrong - I completely understand the move by AMD. 4XXX is quite old.

The frustrating part was just finding the answer. Apart from things behaving completely strange saying there is no...

Re: fglrx Driver Not Detecting Hardware

    G'day,

I'm not impartial to going back to 12.04/12.04.1. It will be a pain to manage updates but I'll live. I can't afford new hardware, just time. EDIT: Or even moving to 12.10 if thats an...

    Hi Crew,

I have a Radeon HD 4870 graphics card.

Previously, it was installed on a GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard with an AMD 9850 BE CPU. I installed Ubuntu 12.04.01 and it had taken it's...

    Hi Forum,

SORRY FOR THE CROSSPOST, it related directly to both server use and Apple Mac Mini use, so I am posting this here also in case my answer lies in the Apple User forum goer's hive-mind.

[ubuntu] Ubuntu 12.04.1 server with Mac Mini 2012

    Hi Forum,

I recently purchased a couple of the new 2012 Mac Mini's released a few months back. I'm having some issues getting them to work, however.

    In comparison, I have a 2009/10 (can't...
