    Re: Options for /host partition

    I just tested that solution but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem.

    Re: Options for /host partition

    I hope there will be a solution soon since I have all my Windows files under "My Documents" (where you usually place files in Windows) and that directory is located under a directory called "Ägare"...
  3. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    Thank you. I have already installed Xubuntu with Wubi at the moment but if I'm going to do a new installation, I will try the newest Wubi beta version where these issues are fixed :) .
  4. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    Ok, thank you for filing a bug report.
  5. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    Just looked in the registry. The country is set to Sweden there (sCountry = Sverige, iCountry = 46) so I don't think Wubi should have detected it as Egypt.

    (However, this is not a big problem for...
  6. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    I certainly shouldn't have Egypt as country in Windows. I should have Sweden. I'm not sure exactly where to check the country.
  7. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    Aha, EG means Egypt. I incorrectly believed it meant the European Union (the old acronym for that in Swedish was EG).
  8. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    I looked in my wubi log as well and it does actually believe that I'm in Finland instead of in Sweden. In the log file I can find:

    GMT=2
    Country=EG
    Locale=sv_FI.UTF-8

    It should be the...
  9. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    Hmmm, I wonder if bullet 1 and 2 that I wrote might be related. In Finland they are actually one hour ahead of us. Maybe it was incorrectly detected that I'm i Finland instead of in Sweden during the...
  10. Re: You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    I did that and then it worked for me to install Xubuntu using Wubi :) . I have only tested my Wubi installation of Xubuntu for a few minutes but so far I've noticed three things:

    * In the log-in...
  11. You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installation program!

    I downloaded the Wubi installer by clicking on "Try Wubi Now" on the bottom of the page http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/downloadmirrors . When I then ran the installer, I got the following error...

    Re: Get ready for Wubi 8.04!

    I'm looking forward to a stable 8.04 release. I would like to install Wubi on a computer I have but right now there is nothing good to install I think. If I install 7.04, there is no working upgrade...
  13. Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

    If I have followed this guide and want to upgrade from Edgy to Feisty, do I have to do anything special or should the upgrade work smoothly without doing anything?

    Re: HOWTO: Compile VICE in Dapper, Edgy and Feisty

    Sorry to spam this thread. I just saw in https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/libx11/+bug/107732 that the same X11 security update also causes problems to start Opera and the writer writes there...

    Re: HOWTO: Compile VICE in Dapper, Edgy and Feisty

    Does anyone btw know exactly which X11 security updates that caused the problem? I have identified that libx11-6 and libx11-data were updated but I'm a bit uncertain if more was updated as well. I'm...

    Re: HOWTO: Compile VICE in Dapper, Edgy and Feisty

    I also got the black screen problem after an X11 update. I had installed VICE 1.19 from the repositories and manually downloaded and copied the ROM files to the correct place. Hmmm, it looks a bit...
  17. Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

    I'm running Edgy (and I intend to continue using Edgy, not upgrade to Feisty) and have successfully followed the instructions in this thread. Today, the Update Manager tells me that there is an...
  18. Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

    I followed the instruction in this thread some time ago and it works fine for my external HDD. Thank you :) !

    Since Feisty is around the corner, I'm now wondering if the changes made in the...
