1. boot your windows XP with the CD select recovery and type fixmbr

You can use either really I was using b43 and ndiswrapper on hardy ( obviously not at the same time !
To get ndiswrapper going you will need to blacklist ssb as well as b43 and possibly b43 legacy...
assuming that you have run the passwd command then just restart it should now work.
boot into the recovery mode by pressing escape and selecting it at boot time
then type passwd yourusername ( where yourusername is the name you log in as)for instance if the greeter says John Doe...
