Re: What is your preferred portable music device?

My Panasonic Shockwave (Cassette) has served me well for over ten years, and I still use it frequently. It was only a few weeks ago that I finally picked up a Sansa Fuze (after doing much research on...

Re: why do people shift to debian?

To be clear, and unless I've been misunderstanding all these years, it is SELinux that has been developed by the NSA, not the firewall. SELinux can be easily disabled and/or removed.

    The firewall...

Poll: Re: What SNES emulator do you use?

Are you using the version that's in the repositories? Because I would like to recommend SNES9X-GTK. If you do a search on these forums, you'll find it. It works as well as the Windows version....

Poll: Re: How do you handle cookies?

I eat them. Good with coffee.

    Oh, you meant "browser cookies"...
    I eat them.

    Clock DVA - "4 Hours".

    Actually makes me miss working.

Wow. Finally somebody listening to music that I've heard of.

Re: NES Emulator on 64-bit Ubuntu

Have you tried FCEUX? The version that comes with Ubuntu is out of date, and the packages (FCEUltra and GFCEU) have been discontinued in favour of FCEUX. Try installing the .deb on the download page...

    Re: I freakin' love Radiohead!

I never thought they were "generic" sounding (okay, maybe Pablo Honey was), but they've always sounded like the sum of their influences, and I don't mean anything bad by that. While not my favourite...

    Re: How is Debian.

If you only use the many GUI tools that Ubuntu provides, you may feel a little lost with Debian. So, as mentioned above, you may have trouble installing some proprietary drivers if necessary.
    That...

Re: What Distros are you running

I've been using Debian for over a year now. Before that I used to jump around a lot, usually sticking with Ubuntu or Fedora for the longest. These three are my favourite, but Debian is the one that...

    Re: Repositories Being REALLY Slow

It could either be your particular mirror is having some issues/maintenance/downtime, or that it's just that time of year when the Ubuntu servers are going to be overloaded for the next week or so.

Poll: Re: Should I move to Debian Stable?

If Pulse is the only thing that's giving you issues, can't you just disable it? Unless you have your Home folder on a separate partition, you'd have to re do everything.

Re: Comedy movie similar to Scary movie 123 and 4?

With this, I would like to recommend Repossessed, as I was talking about it with a co-worker today. It's simultaneously a parody and a sequel to the Exorcist. Sometimes it's pretty cringe-worthy, but...

    Re: Countdown: Opera-10 Launch

    Re: 80s film recommendations

I'm also fairly outraged that Ghostbusters didn't appear in this thread until the third page, especially since Caddyshack's been mentioned. The two sort of go hand-in-hand in my mind.
