    Re: Anybody else in Bloomington?

Oops, guess I failed to check this thread for awhile. Hello to both of you, math_phy and jmbrown!
  2. Re: How-to Scrollwheel Effect on Logitech trackball (Marble Mouse)

Just needed to rebuild a workstation from scratch, and forgot to save my xorg.conf file. Oops!

Fortunately, I could still find this thread. I'm even a lefty, so Buffalo Soldier's original post...
  3. Poll: Re: Share with the community your gutsy install/upgrade experience

My upgrade from Feisty went generally well, with one (and only one) issue (which I haven't solved yet).

I was using the proprietary Nvidia driver (nvidia-glx from the repos) in Feisty, it worked...
  4. Re: Ubuntu Gutsy Release Party in Indianapolis- Saturday, October 20th

Have a great time at the party, you guys. I'd love to be there, but I've already had an expensive month. Plus, I'm worn out.

Plus, I'm gonna go see Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello here in...

I don't think I know you, but by god I don't know how; I worked for UITS back in the nineties, myself. I PMed you my real name.

    Re: Anybody else in Bloomington?

Hooray! Glad to see I'm not the only Ubuntu user in town. This is fun!

BTW I attended my first B-LUG meeting this week. It was sparsely attended, but I had fun and met cool people.

    Re: Anybody else in Bloomington?

LOL, it has always been a topic of discussion among those of us who cut our chops (back in the day) at Technology Services (Indiana University) that many, many of us worked at Pizza Express (often at...

Re: I guess I'm the first in Evansville...

PS don't forget to look online for gigs, too. I telecommute these days, and it's great. My office is a 14-hour drive away from my house. :)

Re: I guess I'm the first in Evansville...

I'm a sysadmin myself, buddy. You can find work for sure, but it sure helps if you're willing to do some Windows stuff as well.

Ask around, maybe at the U of E? You might also check with...

Poll: Re: Ubuntu Users - World Map

Hooray for Indiana, there are already several of us.

BTW LOL, I switched up the latitude and longitude the first time; it put me in Antarctica.
  21. Poll: Re: Do you help people with their Windows problems?

I try to help people in whatever way I can, with any OS. I supported Windows and Mac OS stations for many, many years (I only have to deal with servers now) and will do whatever I can to help folks...

Re: How stable is Ubuntu 6.10 now?
