    Looks like samba4 is giving you an issue at this point. Maybe you can remove that package and install the regular 'samba' package? Are you able to remove packages now?

    1) su
    2) mkdir temp
    3) mv /usr/local/lib/libreadline* temp
    4) ldconfig
    5) apt-get update

    Would not hurt to try. You may have an actual bug there with gpgv.

    Try a 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' and see what happens.

    Lets try putting in a fresh sources.list file. Can you confirm you are running ubuntu version 12.04 at the moment?

    Also run this:

    sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf

    then..

    sudo apt-get update

    See if that clears the errors from the update output.

    Run these commands to clear out any old packages:

    sudo apt-get clean

    then

    sudo rm -r /var/cache/apt/archives/partial/*

    Then 'sudo apt-get update' again.

    You probably did not forget anything. Its a matter of loading the correct modules. Did you take note if the WiFi worked when using the Live CD?
