  1. [kubuntu] Re: nvidia-current and nvidia-96 / 2 cards 3 monitors

So far what I found out:

    - vesa driver failing for a "non-primary" display adapter is in the bugtracker (for a while)
    - nouveau doesnt work parallel to the proprietary nvidia driver, cause it's...
  2. [kubuntu] Re: nvidia-current and nvidia-96 / 2 cards 3 monitors

I also tried the nv-driver for the second card, which too fails completely, cant even get to the desktop. Here's the log for the nvidia-current + nv scenario:

    [ 20.681]
    X.Org X Server 1.9.0...
  3. [kubuntu] Re: nvidia-current and nvidia-96 / 2 cards 3 monitors

I just tried that, even removed both twinview and xinerama. But the third monitor never comes to life, getting stuck at the driver problem.

I just wonder why it's written explicitely in the wiki...
  4. [kubuntu] Re: nvidia-current and nvidia-96 / 2 cards 3 monitors

Is it somehow possible to load the nvidia-96 driver as module under a other name (like nvidia96) and get it that way into the xorg.conf? Will 2 different nvidia drivers even work at the same time?
  5. [kubuntu] Re: nvidia-current and nvidia-96 / 2 cards 3 monitors

Yeah I tried Twinview first, then with the nvidia-current / nouveau combination I also put in the xinerama flags into the xorg.conf, didn't really know what I was doing, just experimenting.

    What...

    Hardware:
    - GTX460 PCI-E
    - Geforce 2MX PCI

X starts for both cards but not both at the same time.

    Problem: The GTX...

[kubuntu] Re: eth0 gone, got it back as eth3, but no network

Heres what I did: changed /etc/network/interfaces back to eth4 and static IP.
