For all of those who have Synaptics touch pads, you can try this. Tutorial I made in another thread.

If you are running 10.10, then try try this to fix your touch pad problems. As for the graphics problem I am no help right now.

Sorry, I failed to state that this would only work under 10.10+ right now.

You could try to remove the ppa by pasting the following into the terminal:

sudo remove-apt-repository...

Try tapping with two fingers on wherever you want to right click. Hope that helps. :wink:

I have pretty much the exact same laptop. (HP DV5-2035dx)

I found the solution to making the touchpad work was to add the uTouch PPA. Once the PPA was added, install the synaptics-dkms package....

I just did a clean install of Ubuntu Server 10.10.

I decided to install a shell on it for kicks... Bad idea. Now for some reason if I try to access the package manager, it says that...
