[all variants] Re: Ubuntu on Eee PC T101MT

@Hanoc; try System -> Preferences -> Mouse -> Accessibility -> Simulated secondary click, it's the closest so far. Credit someone earlier in the thread (or maybe even in the earlier thread) for...

[all variants] Re: Ubuntu on Eee PC T101MT

@Plippo - well, I went the slightly more reckless route (heck, when you have a restore disc little is truly reckless), and deleted partition 2, turning it into two 30 gig root partitions, a 4 gig...

[all variants] Re: Ubuntu on Eee PC T101MT

    Revised question -

Having searched eeeuser a bit harder, I'm assuming that the EFI partition is just for the boot booster. Is this correct? Does the system not, in fact, use EFI at all?

    So...

[all variants] Re: Ubuntu on Eee PC T101MT

Has anyone attempted to restore the T101MT to its original state?

I understand that if I use the restore disc I'll lose the restore partition, that doesn't bother me.

    Just seeking some...

[all variants] Re: Ubuntu on Eee PC T101MT

Don't let me rush you - all this is very much appreciated. I may well end up installing Ubuntu on it anyway until the useful stuff flows up to Debian or the kernel - I'll have a play, and decide what...

[all variants] Re: Ubuntu on Eee PC T101MT

    Hi Plippo;

Thanks for your work on this. My t101mt arrived today, so I'm going to be dual booting it, though I tend to use Debian these days, and would prefer to run that if I can.

    Any chance...

[ubuntu] Re: How: Gnome terminal always in front?

I guess just type 'history' and copy out the ones you want to keep.

Does anyone know how to make gnome-terminals open with the always on top attribute set?

[EDIT - solved - see below]

    I've...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Ctrl + number key shortcut default function?

Puzzling that metacity stops it too, though. Perhaps just some unexpected interaction between the two. Not sure it's worth filing a bug over. Cheers!
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Random text gets inserted into textboxes.

If it's mostly in firefox, try typing about:config in the address bar, then autoscroll in the filter. Set to true.

If that doesn't work (of if autoscroll annoys her too), set autoscroll back to...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Ctrl + number key shortcut default function?

Thanks for the responses. I've narrowed it down (I think...) to compiz, insofar as "metacity --replace &" kills it dead.

Still no idea what's happening though...
  12. [ubuntu] Ctrl + number key shortcut default function?

Hi. If I press Ctrl and a number key (1 - 4) something happens to my desktop icons (momentary loading, but apparently otherwise unaffected).

Having trouble googling what this does. (Compiz? I'm...

[ubuntu] Re: create an option for a FAST startup

Personally, I'm dual booting with Moblin beta for exactly this reason. It boots RIDICULOUSLY quickly.

Obviously, if you don't have the space you don't have the space - but it's worth considering....

    Does this help?

(Don't worry about the howto - read the rest of the thread, it seems it's unnecessary... Though note I haven't tried it myself)

Just a random thought, but does "ls -lh" report that you have the same permissions on each directory / group of files?

    D'oh!

Akregator has font size setting in its own menu.

I'm going to go and sit in the cupboard and think about what I've done. :p

Using Akregator 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu1 under Gnome Ubuntu 9.04.

[ubuntu] Re: Change Akregator fontsize in GNOME?

Well, updating qtconfig seems to have fixed it, but I'd still like to know how to change this. Font sizes in qtconfig are all greyed out, and though it does let me change them, it doesn't retain them...
